Foreign Language Courses
For admission to the university, students must complete two sequential courses of a foreign language in secondary school, 8-10 semester hours at the postsecondary level or document an equivalent level of proficiency. UF's College of Liberal Arts and Sciences has an additional language requirement and the College of Journalism and Communications has an optional language requirement. Students in other colleges are encouraged to pursue course work in languages as a matter of interest.
The university offers a diverse selection of foreign language opportunities. The following list identifies all introductory (1000-/2000-level) language courses as well as the department that offers the course. The course title will appear as a link if that course is being taught this term; click on the link for a complete course description before continuing on to the Schedule of Courses.
