Common Course Numbering

Requesting a New Course
New course requests require a New Course Transmittal form, commonly referred to as UCC1 (PDF). Print and complete the form, including the required signatures and contact information. Instructions and explanations are included on page two.

Submit the form and a course syllabus to the appropriate college curriculum committee (CCC). When the CCC approves the request, it will be forwarded to the University Curriculum Committee (UCC).

After UCC approval, the request will be forwarded to the Statewide Course Numbering System (SCNS) in Tallahassee. SCNS will notify the Office of the University Registrar (OUR) when the new course request is approved, and the OUR in turn will notify the college and department contacts listed on the UCC1.

Course Changes
Changes to an existing course (e.g., title, credit, prerequisites) require a Course Termination or Change Transmittal form, known as a UCC2 (PDF).

Print and complete the form, including the required signatures and contact information. Instructions and explanations are included on page two.

Submit the completed form to the appropriate college curriculum committee (CCC). When the CCC approves the request, it will be forwarded to the University Curriculum Committee (UCC).

After UCC approval, the request will be forwarded to the Statewide Course Numbering System (SCNS) in Tallahassee. SCNS will notify the Office of the University Registrar (OUR) when the new course request is approved, and the OUR in turn will notify the college and department contacts listed on the UCC2.

Questions regarding the forms or request procedures can be directed to the college curriculum coordinator or to Diana Hull in the Office of the University Registrar.
