VA - Advance Payment
Advance payment provides funds at the beginning of a school term to help you meet the expenses concentrated at the beginning of the term.
The advance payment would be the amount payable for the initial month or the portion of a month in which the term or semester begins, plus the amount payable for the following month.
The advance payment check is sent directly to UF Veterans Services in 222 Criser Hall, and can be picked up as early as 30 days before the first week of classes. Proof of identity is required to receive payment. The next scheduled payment will be sent to your address or direct deposit.
Requirements
- A full calendar month break without benefits.
- Must plan to enroll at least half time.
- If you are a new or returning student, you must be accepted for admission/readmission as a degree-seeking student.

Note: You must request advance payment at least 30 days and not more than 120 days before the start of the semester.
