Veterans Tuition Deferment

A tuition fee deferment allows students to pay tuition fees after the fee payment deadline without being subject to cancellation of registration or the late payment fee. Fee deferments cover tuition fee payments only and must be established by the fee payment deadline of the term in which you want the deferment.

Note: Tuition fees will not be deferred if prior term fees are owed.

The university may award fee deferments to students receiving:
Veterans' education assistance benefits

How do you apply for a veteran's deferment?
You must request a deferment from the Veterans Affairs Office in 222 Criser Hall.
You must fill out the correct deferment form (PDF).
You must take the deferment form to University Financial Services in 113 Criser Hall once a veteran affairs staff member signs it.

Note: Once you receive a VA deferment, you will automatically receive a deferment for the next semester. It is important that you review your tuition status each semester to make sure your deferment has been processed.

Note: Students enrolled in specialized programs in which fees are paid directly to the department (example: Distance Doctor of Audiology, Professional MBA, Working Doctor of Pharmacy, etc) need to contact the office to which payments are made in order to determine fee deferment eligibility and procedures.

Important: A $100 late payment fee will be assessed if tuition fees are not paid by the deferred fee payment deadline. If you cannot pay your deferment on time, please contact the registrar's office.
