UF Office of Veterans Affairs
Licensing and Certification
Basic Benefit Information
The VA can pay up to $2000 for approved tests. The state approving agency must approve all tests before payment can be made. Payments will be issued after test results are received. The student must have filed an application for education benefits for Montgomery GI Bill – Active Duty (Chapter 30), VEAP (Chapter 32) or Dependants Educational Assistance (Chapter 35). Participants in the Montgomery GI Bill - Selected Reserves Program (Chapter 1606) are not eligible to participate in this program.
What Tests are Currently Approved for V.A. Benefits?
Not all tests are currently approved, so state approving agencies will review any test for which students wish reimbursement. A number of tests offered by state licensing boards are approved as well as regular school courses needed to obtain a license or certificate. If you wish payment for a test that is not approved, send us your test results anyway and we will review it and make a determination. Click on Search for Approved Licensing to check if the test is approved.
