Licensing and Certification
Basic Benefit Information
The V.A. can now pay up to $2,000 for approved tests taken on
or after March 1, 2001. The State Approving Agency must approve
all tests before a payment for the test can be made. Payments
will be issued after the test results are received. The student
must have filed an application for education benefits form for
Montgomery G.I. Bill – Active duty [Chapter 30], VEAP [Chapter
32] or Dependants Educational Assistance [Chapter 35].
Note: Participants in the Montgomery G.I. Bill - Selected Reserves program [Chapter 1606] are not eligible to participate in this program.
What Tests are Currently Approved for V.A. Benefits?
Since this is a new program, few are currently approved. However,
the State Approving Agencies have been advised to review any test
for which students wish reimbursement. A number of tests offered
by State licensing boards are approved as well as regular school
courses needed to obtain a license or certificate. If you wish
payment for a test that is not approved, send us your test results
anyway and we will review it and make a determination. To check
